Im going to building a new PC soon and wanted to know what OS to get.

 

Im mostly going to just do gaming, stream and record/edit videos.

 

Just wondering if it makes a difference if i get windows 7 pro/ultimate, etc or windows 8.

I suggest you get windows 8.1 so you get a free upgrade to windows 10 when it's released.

I agree in buying 8.1.. I didn't know we got a free upgrade to 10 tho sweet.

pick 8.1 is faster and you get a free copy of w10 but also uses 2 times less resource than w7 in case your build is pretty small.

Is this official? Last I knew it was just in the rumor stages, and even then it sounded more like it would be a reduced price rather than free.

It is a rumor, of course nothing is certain until actual release, but either way it's still nice to get a reduced price and to be honest, even though i personally still use 7 if I had to buy a new pc I'd get 8.1 and tweak the interface.

Oh yes, I agree. I was just curious how certain you were about the upgrade price.
