Muffled Mic Over Skype

So I have the Siberia V2, and its about two and a half years old, and whenever I'm on skype or any other voice chat, the person on the other end keeps saying that I occasionally get muffled. 

I listen to myself all throughout the calls, and I never hear any dips or blips. Im using the onboard audio of a P8Z77i-Deluxe, and the mic on my headset has gotten a little bit loose. Like when it is fully extended, it can wiggle around a bit. 

 

So I'm wondering if it is some sort of software issue or a hardware issue. Hopefully there is an easy fix for it, and not having to RMA it, if it is even still under warranty.

Might just be that your quality gets degraded over VOIP, happens to us all.

 

EDIT: but if you really wanna give it a go and check, install audacity and record.. like a skype convo or something and then when you're done, listen to it so see if you can hear it.
