Both builds were created by me. Let me know if any are imbalance.

If you were to pick which one would you pick?

This build is primarily for 3D rendering and very light gaming.

Both builds only have a 120 gb SSD initially. I will add a 1TB WD Blue to either build after its built.

The 1st one, you said you were gonna do 3D rendering, you need more threads for rendering which the 8320 has more than the 4690K.

BTW, don't get that Kingston SSD, they had a SSD scandal a few months ago, they switched out the NAND and the performance is worser than the original V300.

If budget isn't a concern than a i7 4790k or possibly a X99 might be the better choice.

-snip-

SSDnow V300s are really, really bad. Horrible performance after they swapped out the NAND after releasing them.

Other than that, they look decent, nothing really far out of place.

if you aren't gonna OC though, you could save a few bucks and get a non-K skew of the Intel i5-4690, since all the K does for you is allow you to overclock.

For rendering I'd get the AMD build for more threads, but maybe drop a GTX 760 in there for CUDA instead? Depends on which programs you're using.

Definitely the AMD build if you're going to be rendering. It will perform significantly better than the i5. That being said, pick up a Crucial MX100 SSD instead of the Kingston.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy the Kingston SSD.

What are your speeds? You could have gotten an early version of it. What they did was make it a high quality SSD to get good ratings, then they started making the ssd out of shit flash and the ones nowadays are horrible.

Btw, I have one too.

i would go with the AMD build also what software are you using ? is it video rendering of 3d model

Seems like the Kingston SSD is a big no no. Any suggestions for a similar priced SSD?

How about these?

You don't have horrible performance because you got one of those early ones, those had the good NAND.

it might have been an old one as i still see the $120 price on the package maybe i was just really lucky to get one from a storage lol

Any reason for the MX 100?

SSDs are probably the components that I have the least experience with...

It's cheap, reliable, great read speeds (~500-550MB/s from my testing), and pretty decent write speeds (~350MB/s).

If I'm going with the SP 600, might as well chip in that extra $5 for the MX100.

Looks like the majority is going with AMD.

Going to save a few bucks in the pocket to take a girl on a date. HUE HUE HUE  :D

Actually I only have one question left:

How is the Supernova NEXB 750 PSU on the AMD build?

Is it reliable?

Why go 8320 when you can have the full fat 8350? Praize ze lord!

Because I could just OC the 8320 slightly past the 8350.

Why spend that extra $30 on an overclocked CPU, when you could spend that money on girls, food, or clothes?
