Streaming on Ubunutu

recently installed Ubuntu on my chrome book and trying to find a way to stream.

 

i have a nas with a upnp server enabled, i tried vlc but the options on the net aren't there.

 

I can stream using a browser but only fir movies that are <4gb.

There is some scripts on the web from what i know and some graphical interfaces for them nor some softwares that allows you to stream but it's not perfect. And less reliable than windows from what i know.

I am not sure what you want, but if you want something to watch the stuff on the NAS from XBMC should work.

Vlc will work fine.

basically i have my movies and music backed up on my nas i then stream to everything will give xmbc a go totally forgot that existed

I wonder, why did you not combine some of the vowels with the preceding consonants in your profile picture while combining others?
