I'm looking for a good tablet. $230-$240. In the US.

I've got my eye on this one: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SM-T330NZWAXAR

Any others I should consider in this price range?

My brother had a Samsung tablet I believe it was the Tab 3. Anyways, the thing is on an older version of ICS and it cannot be updated to a newer version of android. I would highly suggest getting either a Nexus 7, the Nvidia Shield Tablet or wait until Google unveils their new "Nexus 9" or whatever they are going to call it.

Samsung tablets are famous for lagging and bugs, i would not recommend them unless you really want the multi window mode, but that is also available in lg's tablets:

Also consider the Nvidia tablets:

Main PC:

ASUS F1A55-M LX, AMD A6-3500, (2x2)gb Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 1600mhz, Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm,
Corsair CX430M, Cooler Master Elite 343, Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Netbook:

Lenovo Ideapad S10-2, Intel Atom N280, (1x1)gb DDR2 667mhz, WD Scorpio Blue 250gb 5400rpm, Zorin OS 9 Lite

Thanks guys, I'm not very keen on the Nvidia tablets so it's either gonna be the Samsung or the Nexus 7 2014.

I just want something snappy with a good display. Feel free to drop more suggestions, if any come to mind.

This is the only correct answer if you want a ~200 dollar tablet.

I am surprised and disappointed that they haven't updated it though. It could need a few updates here and there. Sadly I think Google will kill the 7" tablet line if the rumors of a ~6" tablet are true.

There is no point selling a 6" phone and a 7" tablet.

Yes, after watching some reviews I'm completely sold on the Nexus 7. It's way better than the Samsung.

Do you know how it compares to the Kindle HDX (7"). It has roughly the same specs as the Nexus 7 (even a bit better), $10 cheaper and it also looks like a great fit for my main uses which will be reading books, documents and pdf's and watching tv series.

I'm purchasing one or the other tomorrow.

I would go for the Nexus 7. The Kindle does have a better CPU and GPU (Snapdragon 400 vs Snapdragon 300) but it has a worse screen, no rear camera, no wireless charging and you absolutely have to root it and flash a third party ROM to make it decent. Without flashing a new ROM you won't have access to Google stuff like the play store, Google Maps and so on.

I would go either nexus 7 or the LG G Pad 8.3, which you can find for around 250 on some deals
