Hi Everybody

Im currently in the process of doing a retro console gaming case mod on the case i used for my very first build many a year ago. Im having trouble thinking of a solution for running the controller adapters for the original controllers (gamecube/N64/SNES/Sega/Playstation/Atari). These all come as USB adapters for external use but im looking at mounting them in the front panel and dont want to run usb cables through the back of my case to plug in externally. Can anybody think of another way to do this? Are there any products out there that will allow me to run about 6 usbs from a single header?

thanks in advance

Each internal USB header only supports 2 USB ports. This goes for both USB2 and USB3, so to have 6 USB ports you would need 3 USB headers on your motherboard. You can use a USB hub to plug multiple devices into a single USB port, but this might cause issues depending on what devices and how many you are trying to connect.

You can easily buy a small adapter fro USB2 header to USB2 ports like this one (they are also available for USB3):

So if i delid a USB hub and then mount it to the drive cage that should keep it looking tidy inside and only have a single cable to route?
