Re using a boot ssd

I've just made a newish pic (CPU mobo and ram) using my old drives, will I need to reinstall windows? The pc boots into bios but the ssd only shows 20gb remaining meaning windows is still on it, right?

Windows will still be on it, but you will likely need to reinstall windows, and possibly renew the product code, as it's a new computer, because the motherboard has changed.

You can try and boot it up, but you'll more than likely have the wrong drivers installed for Ethernet, audio, chipset, etc...

 

It's recommended you reinstall Windows so it's a clean state, but if you want to try and use it and install the correct drivers over the old ones then by all means. As said above, you'll probably have to reactivate Windows due to a new motherboard.

Reactivating the key is simple, usually, a simple call to Microsoft's automated service will be sufficient
