Which startup programs should I disable? I've already disabled "IAStorIcon" (Intel), I'm pretty sure it isn't important. I have two processes more which I'm not sure of, "RtHDVBg_DTS" and RTHDVCPL by Realtek Semiconductor. I know that another one is for Realtek audio control panel app but does it need to run continuously on the background? And I'm not sure of these BItdefender processes - Bitdefender Wallet and Bdagent Bitdefender.

I'm using Windows 8.1. More info will be edited if necessary. startup.txt

One of the disk cleaning programmes has a feature where it will look at all the start-up programmes and give you a score on how important they are, so basically you can disable the unimportant ones.

EDIT :-

Programme is " Glary utilities " part is the startup manager

A usefull rule is don't disable any of the MS proggys or anything to do with system monitoring, drivers or printers.

If in doubt google "can I disable "X" from start-up " this should give you a major clue.

That program gives inaccurate information. Glary Utilities showed processes as active that both Windows and Ccleaner display as disabled on startup programs.

Can't find anywhere else and have never heard before of Glary giving innacurate results.

Probably just me being stupid, but how does that show "everything is completely messed up"?

Bit of a comparison of three different 'looks' at the start-up ,CCleaner, msconfig and Glary utilities.

The only difference is GU does not show MSC (which shouldn't be messed with so they do not give the opportunity).

Various 'start-ups'.

Looks like Bitdefender is enabled once and disabled twice  , is their more than one install of Bitdefender?

Bitdefender Wallet is enabled and disabled at the same time.

I guess Bitdefender recreate the startup entries after you disabled them.
