[Help-Build] Gaming PC, Tower. Budget: $1000

OztinCloud

1. Budget & Location: ATL, GA; $1000

2. Aim: Gaming, would also like to stream on occasion

3. Monitors: Looking for a monitor (Not part of the $1000 budget) for $200 relatively over or under, preferably under; Would like a 24'' or bigger.

4. Peripherals: Windows 8 OS

Case: Would like a nice case ;) But something reasonably priced.

5. Why are you upgrading?: My current computer is an HP Pavilion Dv-7 6165us which has lasted me 5 years, and i feel like i am ready for an upgrade. I have spare cash and i want to treat myself. My current PC is a laptop and i need a good gaming tower.

Please let me know if there is anything i can add. I accidentally deleted the topic once and forgot most of what i put.

Thank you. :D If you can invest some more in your PC, I recommend to replace the 500w to 750w for headroom on upgrades and maybe get the S340 case instead. :)

As you've noticed, if you want an SSD, you'll pay for it with a crappier video card.

The best thing to do is buy the PC with a good GPU like a 970 now, use it with just the HDD for a while, then when you can afford the SSD, buy it, and install Windows there instead.

Otherwise your gaming perf will suffer.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Hyper 212 EVO will let you overclock without high CPU temps. Gaming 5 has more features than the 3. I went with G.Skill RAM, because it's very good quality, and looks pretty badass. 970 is much better than the R9 280. 650w is plenty for this build. BenQ makes very good quality monitors, and I have this one so I reccomend it.

No? For the price, that mobo is one of the best. It's very good quality, and has a bunch of features.
