So i'm being shipped a r7 ssd (I won a giveaway ermegahd) its coming from the USA and going to canada.. but its in taiwan now?

Like, some areas of the world according to their clock is later than your time or other palces time. Like if the guy in Alaska looks at the clock and its 7am, the guy in Taiwan could look at it at the exact same time and it would be 2pm for him. If that makes any sense.

I get that the question was why is it transiting in taiwan when the could have just hopped the border its coming from the US

Looks normal to me, started in Taiwan and went to Alaska in the period of today, showing the same day because of the jump back when traveling over the pacific from Asia to the Americas

Yes, started 10/13 in the AM at Taiwan. Then as the day progresses in Taiwan(goes from AM to PM) it leaves Taiwan and arrives in early PM in Alaska due to the time change. Then an hour later or so it leaves Alaska probably heading to you or something.

xD It's alright, I just think your giveaway was just the person ordering the item in your name directly from the website and it got shipped from the manufacturer OR the giveaway guy lives in Taiwan. Whichever, that is what happened.

So it was from the company, then they just shipped it from the manufacturing plant or wherever the nearest ups was I guess, and it happened to be in Taiwan. Have fun with your new SSD :)
