Hi guys,

I am looking to do one of two things and wanted to get some input from the community before I did anything. I either want to convert my current system into a micro atx build or upgrade the current one with some new hardware/possible water cooling loop. My budget is between $400-$500.

Current Build:

Cpu: i5 2500k

Cpu cooler: Antec Kuhler H20 920

Motherboard: Asus P8P67 pro rev 3.1

Hard Drive: Seagate Momentus xt 750gb

Gpu: 2 Radeon Hd 6870

Ram: *GB Corsair vengeance

PSU: Corsair Ax860i

What would you guys recommend I do/buy?

upgrade because.....?

only thing i see lacking is a SSD for speed in productivity appz.

gaming wise a newer tech GPU would be prolly best.

CPU is fine, nothing really "better" for cost involved to upgrade.

motherboard is fine, Z68 or Z77 platforms offer minimal if any

gains, maybe more SATA III ports and USB 3.0

if moving to iTX, really only gain is real estate with really no gain

in performance.

i'd sell the 6870 GPUs, buy one new tech GPU, buy an SSD (128gb+)

and you are good for another year or more.

Upgrading to future proof my build for a little longer. Liked the idea of micro atx because it would work better with the desk space that is available. But I will probably do what everyone is suggesting and get a new gpu and ssd.

The 7950/Samsung 840 are good parts to start with.
