First ever personal rig, M-ITX and for gaming

megadarkwood
This will be my first actual rig that will be for me. I have made rigs for my friends and family but never had the money for myself. Finally, I have enough spending money available ($800, +/- $100) And am ready to buy and build my own.

I will be using this rig for heavy web browsing/school work (I have a lot of tabs open at a time, but 8gb ram is fine) and some gaming in games like Garrys mod, Battlefield 3/4, CIV5, Skyrim .etc at 1080p.

One thing that I need it to be in is a 250D case because it fits perfectly in the space I need it to sit in, this means that it has to be watercooled because of the cooler height limitation in that case.

Everthing except for the case, PSU, and HDD/SSD will most likely be bought used to save on money.

Here is the parts list that I have come up with so far, after looking around on /r/hardwareswap and ebay, I can most likely get the whole thing for around $750.

Why? Asus has the exact same board design in ITX format..

Doesn't help me then. I specifically said it HAS to be in the 250D because of the size.

I wouldnt waste money on H60

Cheapest watercooler that I know will work.

I'd get a cheaper CPU like the 4440 and get a better video card.

And maybe a NH-L9i to save on space.

I would like to overclock a little bit so I need the K processor.

H97 Chipset though

Overclocking is useless. Especially for gaming.

EDIT: What about this?

I would recommend skipping the SSD and getting a better GPU, then getting the SSD later. if you remove the SSD you can fit a 280 in there.

INTEL CORE I5 4670K | NVIDIA GTX 980 | NOCTUA NH-L9i | GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI | KINGSTON 120GB V300

CM STORM QUICKFIRE TK | BENQ XL2420TE | ROCCAT SAVU | FRACTAL DEFINE R4

No point if you're only going to overclock "a little bit", you either wanna go extreme OC so you get a good performance increase, or just not OC so you save power/lifespan.

This build will outperform a OC'd 4690k/260X combo for sure.
