AMD ZeroCore Doesn't work anymore

Go to solution Solved by alphabeta,

The issue is that you are using Sapphire and not PowerColor.

In all seriousness, try getting older drivers; 14.1 works perfectly for me

Dude Sapphire is da Best :P anyway I found out that the problem was That I'm using HDMI not DVI :D

So I have R9 280x and after the 10 min that I was setting the screen to turn off after the GPU was turing itself off too , now I dunno what happened but the GPU still working after the screen turns off ... Why !?

Do you have anything running in the background that could be using the gpu?

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

Nope I turned off all the running apps

How do you know the gpu is still working? Is it because of the fans? Because I'm not sure they're supposed to turn off too.

AMD ZeroCore doesn't turn off the GPU; it downclocks it and shuts down parts of it.

Fans and LED lights are on

but when I said the GPU was turning itself off I meant that both Fans and LED were off

Are you sure you didn't set it to "sleep" mode when it wasn't doing anything for a while? Torrent clients and other background programs can prevent that from happening, too.

that video with Ms. Poon *giggle* was using a 7750. not sure that a 280x will turn the fans off, let along a non-reference design.

No, PowerColor PCS+ is faster, cooler, and just as quiet under load.

The Vapor-X is like a gateway to Nvidia: More features for more money, but equal or less performance.
