There are lots of sites that offer free tutorials, but I recommend picking up a dummies book once you get into it, or a book with a cd (or downloadable) files to begin with.

 

I haven't used this myself, but its the first thing that came up when searching google for autocad free lesson plans

edit: I wouldnt recommend using a paid site to start learning from (like above post) because youre trial is shortlived, get in there, fool around, don't worry about the indepth stuff right now. Use autodesks site, and free resource sites.

I always guarantee that no more than 50% of what I say is useful.

wow i cant believe i missed that own their own site.

really was hoping for video tutorials but lynda.com is too much for a broke student
