http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7Hsbyc

Target : 1440p gaming for atleast 2-3 years...(i'll add another gtx 970 in a month or two ...the high psu is for that+overclocking head room)...

Also should i wait for ddr4 and haswell-e prices to drop or go with this ....rig purely for gaming purposes...

Finally a good monitor with this would be highly appreciated..:P

you dont need an i7 for gaming, 860W PSU is still overkill even for 2 way SLI, 700-750W is better. H100i is quite old already so I'd suggest you get smt else

So I'd suggest get: i5 4690k, MSI Z97 G45 Gaming Mobo (or Gaming3/5/7 from either MSI or Gigabyte), H110 or H220-X or Kraken X61 for CPU Cooler (note that you dont really need one unless you really overclocking your CPU. for low-mid lv OCing, a normal air cooler such as 212 Evo or Dark Rock Pro 3 should do the work perfectly at a much cheaper price.

My rig: Intel Core i7 4790k | MSI Z97 PC Mate | GSKILL Ripjaws X 16GB 1866MHz | ADATA Premier SP550 480GB SSD | Seagate Barracuda 3TB | Seagate Barracuda 2TB  | MSI Gaming X GTX 1070 | Thermaltake Versa N21 | Corsair CX550M Semi Modular PSU | AOC G2460PF 144Hz | Logitech G502 | GSKILL Ripjaws KM780  | GAMDIAS HEPHAESTUS V2  PCPartPicker | Old Build Log | New Build Log
