Building 4k pc need help :)

SroieS

Hello,

I'm going to build my first gaming pc and i want it to run games on a 4K screen if possible.

Also if u can explain your choices for me to understand it would be great :)

1. Budget & Location
So my budget is about 3000$~3500$ (lower the better  ), on a rare occasion i can go up to 4000$.

i'm going to buy most parts from the USA (amazon) i live in Europe. delivery cost not included since i got someone that will bring me that :)

2. Aim
The system mostly will use for programming (I'm going to start my degree this year) and also for gaming like BF4,Diablo,any kind of MMORPG game and more, plus ofc i would like to watch a 4k movies and web browsing...

3. Monitors
There gonna be at least 2 monitors, one 4K monitor and the other 4K TV screen 65Inch. ( the 4K monitor not included in budget and if u got some good suggestion u welcome to recommend them )

4. Peripherals

I got all the peripherals, although i would like to get an originally windows 8.1 pro

5. Why are you upgrading?
My current computer is an Alienware M17X R4(laptop) and i want a desktop.

Thanks ahead for your help :)

Roie

Basically all you need is 4790k and a good z97 mobo, a good watercooler, around 16Gb of RAM, and dual 980's :D

But, if you have money, you can also go with 2011-3 and 5930k and some good x99 mobo :)

i would go x99 at this price point for the 3 and 4 way sli options

3-4K is nothing in a x99 build.

I would strongly suggest that you buy your parts domestically and not through from the US. Maybe the parts over here are cheaper than in Europe, but for the sake of saving, you'll have to pay a lot more when it comes to shipping the items back to US for a RMA.

Acer has a 28 inch 4K G-sync monitor worth considering for gaming,

if you want color accuracy go with the Dell U3214Q or the Asus PA328Q

as for as tvs go, the Panasonic 65WT600 is the only 4K tv I'm aware of that comes with a Display Port, meaning you get 60HZ

What I would do is save up on the case fans and well as just grab 1 SSD. Then go with a 5930K to have 40 PCIe lanes and have the GPUs run at triple x16 instead of triple x8. To be on the safe side, I would get at least a 1000w PSU for triple GTX 970 in SLI. If there is a deal on a 1300w then, I'll rather grab that.  Corsair and Asus X99 Deluxe, maybe it's not a good idea pair them up yet.

It decent, but going for the 5820K is still just as good as a 5930K with only 12 less PCIe lanes and is far cheaper with comparable performance, also going for a M.2 SSD might be a better option to speed up the computer, going 2 way SLI with 980's will scale better than going 3-way or more, depending on what game you play.

Linus has just tested it out recently so watch the video he also go into the power consumption of the system in the video, al so a 850W psu is more than enough to run a 2 way set up and just enough to run a 3 way set up

I guess that samsung m.2 SSD cant boot, just swap it out for a 512GB Sata SSD, it should be just as fast

A good replacement for the PSU can be a Corsair RM750 Full modular, CS750 Semi Modularor Coolermaster V750 Semi Modular all of which are 80+ Gold.

As for the motherboard its probably only just Wifi, & on board audio other than that i think the SOC Force will suit the build very well, If your going with a White Case the X99-Deluxe will look absolutely clean with the NZXT Phantom 820, personally go with the X99-Deluxe
