Hi Guys,

I have been planning to build and donate a PC to someone who is really in need. I contacted the local YMCA and they said they will help me find a person who is in need.

I have been collecting the parts for few months now. These are the parts that I have:

Gigabyte B75M-D3H MOBO (LGA 1155 Socket)

8 GB RAM

120 GB SSD from PNY

1 TB HDD from WD

TP Link Wireless PCI Adapter

LG Optical Drive

NZXT Source 220 Case

CPU - I do have a 3rd generation i5 CPU lying around that I am planning to use.

CPU Cooler - I have Hyper Evo 212. But it wont fit perfectly inside the case. Wish the case was wide enough by a cm.

This build is strictly for someone who is in need of a PC and not for gaming.

What I am missing:

1. PSU - I was thinking of getting a 430W.

2. OS - Where to get a inexpensive, but valid Win 8.1 code?

Let me know your suggestions for PSU, OS and CPU Cooler.

Thanks,

Arun

Yes, it's easy to use (for the most part). Since the computer is intended for basic tasks it will do just fine and it's incredibly easy to install.

you are giving this to someone who needs a pc right? They will most like need it for work or school and with that, i dont think linux would be your best option since a lot of companies/schools use windows only applications
