Okay So here goes.

Im not new to troubleshooting PC software / hardware problems but this has completely stumped me.

After a long time not having the pc on, usually in the morning / afternoon i boot it up and my monitor comes alive and then goes into sleep mode.

  • Cycling power of the monitor does not help
  • Cable removing / insert not working anymore but used to do the trick / bought new cable because of this now its worse. (DP Cable as monitor only has DP or HDMI)
  • Cycling pc on off sometimes works, have to kill switch it wait a bit and boot again.

Im not sure how i can TS a monitor i have a DVI monitor and that seems to work fine but it happens at diffrent times and i have had trouble pinpointing what it is.

Heres the the thing, So it started  6 months ago, and then 2 months  ago i started chnaging out parts in the PC, i have changed everything over (except RAM & HDD) and it started doing it again.

So i think its the monitor or the DP cable, i have found that the DP cable used to send a small spark between my case the tip. Since then though I also have a new case and cable.

My monitor model is Samsung S27A750D

So here are my spec:

Asus Sabertooth Mark 1

i7 4890k

GTX 980

Samsung Evo 840 SSD
