Hey guys,

Just finished planning my loop. Any recommendations? I'm using an XSPC bay res that has a Laing DCC in it. The radiators are both Alphacool. A 240mm 8mm thick one in the bottom (bottom hard drive cages are going) and a 280 in the top.

Using this coolant: http://www.mayhems.co.uk/shop2/pure-black-1ltr.html

With this tubing: http://www.amazon.com/PrimoFlex-Advanced-2in-4in-Tubing/dp/B00A93CSZS/ref=pd_cp_pc_0

This CPU block: http://www.xs-pc.com/products/waterblocks/cpu-waterblocks/raystorm-cpu-waterblock-intel/ (with some fancy LEDs)

Using mostly these fitttings: http://koolance.com/image/cache/data/products/nzl-v10-bk_p1-700x700.jpg (the link to the one on the website broke for some reason.) Are 90 degree fittings on the CPU block a good idea to reduce stress on the tubing joint?

Using this reservoir: http://www.xs-pc.com/products/pumps/acrylic-dual-5-25-reservoirpump-combo-with-one-laing-ddc/

These radiators: (bottom) http://www.alphacool.com/product_info.php/info/p1029_Alphacool-NexXxoS-Monsta-240.html

                           (top) http://www.alphacool.com/product_info.php/info/p989_Alphacool-NexXxoS-XT45-Full-Copper-280mm.html

Using these fans: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Noiseblocker-BlackSilent-Pro-Fan-PL1/dp/B002UJF8G0 (and the 140mm versions for the top of course)

Here's the diagram of my loop idea that I whipped up:

So there's that. I'd really appreciate feedback along the lines of: 'you fucked this up, you did that wrong, those wont work together, try this instead.' :P

Thanks! :)

Looks good, nice and basic.

Use as many angle fittings you need to make it look good

you'll only need 45's for the CPU ;)

Oh yeah 45 degree ones would work. Thanks :)

Everything seems fine. Using angled fittings is always a good idea to make sure the tube can make the bend without stressing it which could make the tube come off after time.

Not sure about the fans but everything else looks fine.

Id say that the tube running from the bottom rad to the res is abit long, might look unpleasing. (to me atleast, i like clean short pipes), Could you hide the tube behind the bays? Or having it going through the cable managing and out the top, just to break the line up abit. Ive seen some really nice fittings used between GPU and CPU when theyre done right they look absoloutely beautiful. (:

EDIT: Ive seen really good results on freinds rigs with the corsair SP series of fans on rads :) you looked at them?

CPU: i5 3570k                                 PSU: CX650 Corsair                 SSD: 128GB Samsung 840

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance     Case: Zalman Z11                    HDD: 500Gb Toshiba & 1TB Western Digital

MOBO: ASrock Extreme 4 Z77        GPU: GTX 770

That's a good idea for hiding that long run. I thought it would look a bit mehh :P Imight wrap the 24 pin around it or something.

Be very careful with Mayhems pastel coolants; specially the pastel black. In TTL's "Orca" build the coolant turned brown after a few weeks/months. I personally would pick anther pastel colour or ditch the mayhem's coolant altogether and go for a more reliable brand such as XSPC or EK Coolant.

Also mayhem's has not yet confirmed afaik that the Primochill LRT will work with Pastel coolant and they specifically state not to use primochill tubing on their website (although this may or may not include the LRT tubing).

Waterblock is fine.

You need to make sure those fittings fit the tubing.

90 degree fittings are for aesthetics mostly.

Rads and fans are fine as long as they fit.

Feel free to PM for any water-cooling questions. Check out my profile for more ways to contact me.

Yeah, I checked, checked and re-checked. The fittings are the right size. Link just broke so I got a picture :P The idea was to get the awesomeness of the black coolant in the translucent red tubing. I might end up just using an opaque red tubing and distilled water with a killcoil and stuff.

Yes. I was thinking of them just a second ago. Get those red rings going :P I'll look up some reviews and stuff soon.

I've used Mayhems berry pastel with my LRT tubing and everything was fine. The tubes stayed clear

I do still worry about the pastel black though :P

Yeah the black seems a bit much. The only issues I had with the pastel concentrate were my temps. I don't know if that was the concentrates fault or my own for using too much of it. When I drained my loop is smelled like a paint can which can't be good.

This time I opted just for the dye so I don't have to worry about it smelling like a paint can.

250ml of concentrate + 750ml of distilled water = 1L of coolant

I tried finding something to measure it but for some reason the store didn't have anything. I know I put too much and that's why I drained soon after. It was a combination of being tired and having a family member over to help me which ended up screwing me up since he thought he should have input on everything I was doing.

That will be the last time I have somebody over to lend a hand since it took longer then me doing it myself.
