AMD or Intel (My First Gaming Computer)

Sorry for the hard to answer question, but for my first build for under $1000 USD, should I get an AMD and save $100, or get an Intel Core i5 4690K.

Those are not the only choices. How is the system going to be used? Do you a) want to overclock, b ) do not want to overclock, c) don't care?

I don't really care. If a game were to need to use the extra power, then sure, which is why I chose the 4690K, just in case. But I would prefer not to.

What you could do if you are using it just for gaming (not rendering or anthying too demanding on the cpu) get an amd and get a better graphics card.
