What should I buy?

I have a PC and direly need a GPU upgrade. If i save for one it will be the 980 at $600. I also need a portable laptop/tablet for carrying around with me. I am looking at the Surface Pro 3 i5/126gb version? Which should I buy first?

What GPU do you have now?

Desktop: Intel Core i5 2380P (2400 w/o iGPU), MSI H61, 8GB RAM, 256GB SP610, 500GB WD Blue, HIS R9 280, Antec TruePower Classic 550W, Inwin MANA 134, QNIX QX2710, CM QuickFire Rapid, Logitech G402

 

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L40D, AMD A6-6310, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Radeon R4 Graphics, 14" 1366x768

 

 

Phone: iPhone 6 Space Gray 64GB, T-Mobile $60/mo 3GB plan

Do you game a lot? Or would you spend more time on a laptop/tablet

I game daily but I would use the laptop/tablet just as much.

If you don't already have a laptop/tablet then get one now and a GPU later. If you do already have one then get a new GPU first

I also cannot recommend the Surface Pro 3. I had one for about 3 days and returned them. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty great device, but not $1000 good and it's really ridiculous that they don't come with the keyboard which is pretty much necessary.
