Hey guys, I'm thinking about building my first PC, and that if I'm going to build, I might aswell go all out.

So I'm thinking:

I5-3570k
MSI Z77 MPOWER

EVGA GTX 780 3GB Superclocked w/ ACX

Then some sort of SSD/HDD

PSU

and a case

So, does anybody have some ideas about what HDD's, PSU and case I should get?

Seagate HDDs, Kingston or samsung SSD, Corsair, antec, seasonic PSU, and case, anything that isnt a plastic mess so no NZXT

Or were you asking for like the actual thing and model?

i5 3570 | MSI GD-65 Gaming | OCZ Vertex 60gb ssd | WD Green 1TB HDD | NZXT Phantom | TP-Link Wifi card | H100 | 5850

Case -> Really depends on what you like.

SSD as joelthezombie15 said,  Samsung / Kingston

PSU: Seasonic, XFX, Corsair, Antec, BeQuiet -> Make sure they have one single 12V rail and plenty of ampere on it for the 700 series. [~650W 80+ should do]

HDD: WD Black / Blue, Seagate Barracuda,

How many watts are we talking then? 6-700?

Something around 650-700W will be fine, the 780 has a recommendation around 650W and you can usually get away with less, so you will beo n the safe side and have room for overclocking.

Go for something modular aswell, keep the system nice and tidy. Make it beautiful and do a build log? If youre going all out a 900D ? :D or a c70 :) would love to see a build in a c70, theyre really nice cases. Corsair h80i or or h100i for cooling your CPU? h100i is a 240mm rad where as h80 is a 120mm rad

Yeah, If I'm buying it, I'm going to make a build log. The 900D is waaay to much. I do like the look of the C70, so I might pick that one.

I'll buy the h100i, but should I buy other fans, like the Corsair SP120's?

The fans on the h100i are good, however sp120s are better and look better :p id reccomend some sort of SP style fan infront of the hard drive cages since theyre pretty dense to push air through. Id love to see a c70 build :) I want that for my next computer :D List me ure build so far? Gonna go grab a shower and get to lunch, will check it when i get back

Okay, the parts I have decided on now are:

EVGA GTX 780 w/ ACX

Intel i5 3570k

MSI Z77 MPOWER

Seasonic X-750 750W

Corsair Vengeance C70

Corsair Vengeace 8 GB 1600 MHZ

Corsair H100i + Corsair SP 120 Pref. edition

Kingston HyperX 3K 120 GB

Seagate Barracuda 7200 Rpm 2 TB

This seems to be a Black/yellow build, anybody have a idea what kind of lighting I should use? LED-strips or something?

Hey! >:(

I like NZXT! They're a name brand and they do they're cases quite fashionably well. They're functional too and don't lack things most other cases you listed have. Plastic isn't bad. They do it well.

Black and yellow would do nicely with bright white lighting to give a construction site/tonka look to it.

Before I add input to your build--do you have a budget?

if i were you , i'd check if you can go with haswell instead of ivy bridge for the same price.

i would also get a wd black + a ssd for caching instead of getting a 120gb ssd.

Haswell might be a better choice yes. About same price, better performance and lower power consumption. If you don't get a crazy deal on the 3570k (which I doubt). Otherwise it looks good. You might wanna consider quiet edition SPs instead of performance ones. Imo I always choose less noise for the same price if I can.

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.

I don't really, but I'm trying not to go crazy overboard, spending too much.

So just fire away :)

Well, going with Haswell, it's just a little higher price, but nothing I can't handle.

So if I swap the 3570k and the MSI MPOWER with a 4670K and a Z87-GD65-Gaming?

Also, what do you mean with getting a WD Black and SSD-caching?

I really don't care about them making some noise, as I'm always playing music or using a headset :) The performance ones are also cheaper here in Norway, according to the Price-checking website I use

yeah , that would be good for the cpu + motherboard swap.

what i mean about getting a WD Black hard drive and a ssd for caching.

my recommendation is to get a WesternDigital Caviar Black 1tb ( FAEX) with a sandisk ready cache ssd.

the ssd will boost up the speed of the hard drive but you won't need to manage another drive & it's more cost effective.
