Another Mobo + Headphones + Sound card? topic

Hi guys I kinda been lurking around this forum and wanted to get some answers. Alright so I have a Asus Rampage IV Gene and Sennheiser PC 363D Headset. I think my on board handles the headphones pretty well and I do know that the "HP's" comes with an external usb sound card.   Reading through this forum got me curious. So in a event in which I want to upgrade with price not really an issue what sound card would be compatible running 7.1 audio with my current headset and why? Preferably an internal not an external solution. Any useful thoughts wound be very much appreciated thanks.

 

P.S. The PC Is not just for games but for other stuff concerned with sound/music so yeah that's pretty much it.
