Looking for a GPU for first build

Hello everyone, i am building my first pc and im getting sorted out all my parts, have most of them ready, mainly through help of a lot of people on these forums, 

i am going with a red/black theme with this motherboard

and i am thinking of spending a big chunk of money on my GPU, since the 970 and 980 just came out,

i am thinking about 970/780(ti) or maybe even the new 980, as said before i want to spend a lot on the gpu.

in case of the 970 and 980 i will have to wait to see non reference cards come out with a black and red theme, i know MSI is going with a red and black theme but i am trying to get away from MSI a bit, had some trouble with customer service before with my laptop i have now.

so i am wondering if anyone has more intel on the 970 or 980 non reference cards that have been seen somewhere or someone knows that have a red and black theme.

and in case of the 780 or 780 ti i haven't really looked in to them a whole lot been thinking about the 900 series the most, anyone who has any suggestions on the 780(ti) side of things in red and black theme would be very helpful.

i would go strix if you like those colours or maybe windforce because windforce has been awesome o me

should be easy then, there is (sadly) mostly red/black GPU on the market, you should go with a : " GTX 970 GAMING 4G " or " R9 290 GAMING 4G " if you prefer AMD, or a 760, 770, 780 (etc..) made by MSI depending on your budget.

Another good card would be the EVGA 970 SC Blower style card. Granted it doesn't have an extremely fancy cooler as far as cooler go but since it mostly black card it would fit your scheme. Good luck!

I know MSI has red and black, but as said in the post i want to think about going away from MSI because of experiences i had with them, but yes the MSI has a red and black card but i'd rather go with something else.

doesn't the new windforce have blue illuminated logo? i thought i saw linus say that on one of his videos. if it is available in another colour im probably going with that. but i thought it was only with the blue logo

hmm thats true, i do like triple cooler design, but i have no idea how i should cover that without killing it or whatever, my first build haha.

ea i mean you can just red marker over the windforce logo so it glows red otherwise i love that cooler

go with asus gtx strix 970 if u want red/black... gtx 970 is better then r9 290x and cheaper, or w8 till amd releases 300 series if u want amd card.

If you want to spend a sizable chunk of cash on a graphics card, you could always wait just that little bit longer and get an EVGA GTX 980 Classified

 

If customer service is a concern you've had with MSI, then I don't know if I could easily recommend ASUS based on my experience with their customer support when I was trying to get a laptop RMA'd
