How do save games in Witcher 2 work?

I want to replay Witcher 2, but I don't want to lose my old playthrough, will it delete my old saves if I start a new one?  Also where is my end game saved for importing to Witcher 3?

It should be in documents if you are not using steam cloud. What do you mean by importing to witcher 3?
