Hey Guys,

I was just curious if you guys had any idea on how often/when we could expect the 970s to start becoming available. I myself work and so don't have the time to sit in front of a computer refreshing the screen every five minutes. To my understanding these cards come in stock for 10 minutes before disappearing. I am specifically looking to get the GB edition so yea any info on availability would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

For god's sake stop posting crap like this!

They just questioned if this was a problem! Linus himself reviewed this and it's not a problem...

Obviously you never read any articles just requoting stuff with your own poor research.

No it's not, what is wrong with you? You do not even have the hardware and just repeat something you catch up others say around the net. My friend just bought an EVGA 2way GTX970SLI and it works perfect, like any other EVGA card.

What you do here is trolling and giving wrong information to other people. Basically this is called lying in case you didn't know.

EDIT: Same shit you told me when you tried to tell me my GTX980 in ref design were not good. Sorry boy you don't even have the money for 1 of these cards and you want to give me good advise? I don't want to be mean, but do you suffer from any kind of brain disability? Because if so, I'm very sorry and I'll make sure next time to send you a PM and explain you all you want to know.

The OP clearly said he wants the Gigabyte version. It looks better and has a higher factory clock speed so it's definitely better bang for the buck, IMO.

Just chill y'all.

I listen to the card and what others avoid to come to the conclusion to avoid a product before I buy it. That's the logic.

Ya the gigabyte is a good card. As far as it looks well that's a matter of opinion. I think is ugly but hey you can never go wrong with Gigabyte quality products.

So you've got nothing to say yourself, this is what you are telling me here and just requote others...

And on topic, the 970's like Gigabyte and most other brands sell these days like crazy. Do you live around a Microcenter by chance? The get usually once a week deliveries. You could try your luck there.

From a friend's experience, their customer support is really bad, if compared to EVGA's... damn, I pray everyday that my GB card won't fail before warranty is over, lmao.

Coil whine is really problem?

for example My ex card, sapphire Vapor-X r9 280x did the same

fps was 2000-3000 when menu was playing in crysis 3

but when i was gaming 30-40 fps, there were not any coil whine.

so Coil whine is problem or not. :)

Sure is funny that the OP asked if anyone knows how long it will take for 970s to come back in stock.

From previous experience it can take up to a month, but my experience wasn't with a newly released card, so this is probably a bad estimate.

My advice would be to just make a purchase from a large retailer so you can get in line as early as possible. Contacting support and asking how many people are on backorder could also be useful, and they might have some suggestions as to when new stock gets dispersed to the retailers

EVGA Themselves said something about this 'issue'. TL;DR It's not an issue.

Did you really expect EVGA to shit talk their own product LOL. That would fail on so many levels to be profitable for them.

The 900 series is as scarce as honest people, they do exist but they are hard to find. As of yesterday, all 970 except for one EVGA 970 ACX1.0 was available at amazon but it is out of stock today. I am sure you can get one at you local MicroCenter but get it while stocks last.

Just chill y'all.

After reading up on all the different Aftermarket Designs. I like Gigabyte's the most. Asus/MSI have the idiotic (no offense to any owners) fans that turn off in idle. I rather have the fans running and my card cooler than my card run hotter in idle.

Lol, I love how this became an an argument over the EVGA version of the card. To each his own I guess, I personally didn't like the EVGA version. That's all. I am hoping to purchase it from newegg. Amazon does offer advance purchase but I rather just get it from newegg when they get it in stock. Plus I have the premier membership so might as well lol.

Scarce as honest people, that's a sad world. But I know what you mean, guess I will have to check couple times a day on my phone and hopefully one of these days it comes back in stock.

Watch this from PC Perspective.

They show the ACX 2.0 Cooler that is shipping and its not the same thats on the early 970's.  Additionally check out Anandtech's review of the 970 with the bios update for the early cards.

I don't see an issue.

In event, its personal preference, they are all good.  I am a bit down on the Asus just for one 8-pin.

7900X, Asus X670-E ROG Strix , 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 6000, 2 x Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB NVME, Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVME,  EVGA RTX3080TI FTW3

EVGA Supernova P2 1000 PSU w/ CableMod, Asus Xonar DSX, Lian Li Galahad 360, Hyte Y60, Corsair K70, EVGA Torq X10, (1) Alienware AW3418DW Ultrawide, (1) Acer Predator XB271HU 1440P, Logitech G535

Glad I could help. The fact is that if you completely ignore the looks of all cards, the overall quieter, cooler and "faster" (from factory) is the Gigabyte version. I have no clue which will be able to OC better but, if you look at the temps, the Gigabyte probably will be the best overclocker because of a better (600W TDP LOL) cooler. But then there's silicon lottery so yeah, go figure.
