Hi all,
I currently have a Corsair HX750 powering the following components:

  • Asus p8Z77-V Deluxe
  • Intel Core i7 2700k @ 4.7 Ghz with H100i (stock fans)
  • 16GB Corsair vengence
  • Crossfire Sapphire Vapor-X 7950 (950/1250)
  • SSD as boot drive
  • 2 internal hard drives
  • Xonar essence STX
  • 2 Bitfenix LED strips
  • 1 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-15
  • Bitfenix pro fans  (1x120mm and 1x200mm)
  • 8 USB devices

I'm worried that my PSU isn't able to power all of these components as I sometimes freeze during a long intense gaming session and I cannot OC my 7950s further without it freezing...
So i'm not so sure if it the graphics card that is faulty or if i'm not delivering enough power.
Any ideas? Do you think I should upgrade?

yeah, it should be pretty loaded but it should be enough

Thanks, :)

What do you think is causing my pc to freeze during gaming? faulty GPU?

You're probably OK, you don't have much headroom though. Your overclocks (on the graphics cards) might not be stable, and that problem is only discovered after they have run for a while (i.e. in the middle of a gaming session). Try dialing back the OC and see if it helps.

P.S. "PSU sufficient enough" is a redundancy. Sufficient inherently means that the thing you are referencing is enough. My inner grammar freak wants you to change it.

Have you made sure your overclock on your CPU is 100% stable?

The GPUs are overclocked using the sapphire vapor-x boost button... so should really be able to reach that overclock.

Yes, they should, but it's best to remove as many variables as we can. Unstable OCs and faulty parts (e.g. RAM) seem to be the biggest causes of lockups, freezes, etc.

Just had a read around and found out I wasn't suppose to turn on the boost button and have my overdrive in CCC turned on.
I have turned off the boost button and can now overclock much more without it freezing and it seems to be stable (no freezes so far)
Thank you all. :D

I was wondering are there any other good programs that I can use to test the stability of GPU overclock?
I've been using furmark.

You're welcome. Furmark is a good program. I personally use Unigine Heaven because not only is it free, but it has benchmarking capabilities as well.
