xbox one ps4 emulator progress?

Games are made on more or less typical workstations, the equivalent of emulators can be found deep in the vaults of Naughty Dog or any other console focused/exclusive studio.

MS and Sony keep their bread and butter top secret of course, to protect their investments they purposefully made emulating difficult, early in the console development cycle.

Random guys coding in their basement fueled by motivation and Mountain Dew won't get far. People skilled enough to attempt it would rather be employed on fully legal projects.

Before anyone gets any ideas, a kickstarter project serious enough would be shut down faster than a terrorist nest.

Your only hope for emulators is the remote chance of some employees becoming disgruntled and careless enough to pull it off but they prefer living their lives worry free.

This is LTT. One cannot force "style over substance" values & agenda on people that actually aren't afraid to pop the lid off their electronic devices, which happens to be the most common denominator of this community. Rather than take shots at this community in every post, why not seek out like-minded individuals elsewhere?

Although Linusinium exaggerates a bit, he's on the right track. Although the x86 architecture would most certainly make it easier to emulate, emulation simply isn't popular enough to have a ton of highly skilled programmers for every major project. Although the legality of it isn't as simple as "GAR piracy because our consoles and not yours, GAR", it most certainly doesn't help the matter when some areas of emulation are very grey areas. The fact that the consoles are still quite new doesn't help much either.
