This is just a hypothetical question guys. Say you had a motherboard that supported up to 1600MHz Ram without overclocking, but up to 1866MHz with the Ram overclocked. So if you took 1600MHz Ram and tried to overclock it to 1866MHz, and you took 2133MHz Ram and underclocked it to 1866Mhz, wouldn't the 2133 underclocked Ram be more stable? And maybe also get higher clock speeds with it? Thanks.

It's either stable or it's not stable. The higher clocked RAM at its native configuration will most likely overclock better, but this isn't always the case.

I'm going to assume underclockig would be better. Give you a little less power consumption and a little less heat, probably prolonging the life of the memory. But, I've never given this a shot, so I'm not too sure.
