I'm looking for some software that I can run on HELIOS that can monitor the line in jack and give me a "readout" of sorts so I know the loudness? (is that a word?) of the audio coming in. Something like this:

Has to be free, since I'm broke. And run on Windows 98. You should get the picture.

 

EDIT: Think I'm looking for a VU Meter? Sound right?

Just find a small cable extender and connect a voltmeter to it. Will work regardless of software and all hipsters will drool themselves to death.

I don't have a voltmeter, and this will need to be a pretty much permanent solution.
