Need help, internet connection not working

Go to solution Solved by LapX,

Try contacting your ISP about it.

Thanks, I called my ISP, it wasn't their problem, I called D-Link support and apparently I had the wrong MAC adress somewhere...

Hi everyone, in case you're wondering, I am posting this from school since my home internet rarely works since yesterday.

What happened is I was seeding and utorrent seemed to work but my mom, dad ans sister complained the internet wasn't working so I stopped utorrent as it was probably the reason it was slow but it didn't solve the problem, even on my machine which is the only one connected by an ethernet cable internet wasnt working. My phone wasn't either. Everything was connected to the network but didn't receive any internet signal. I did the famous plug/unplug thing on the modem and it worked for about 10mins before loosing it. I restarted the modem 5 times with always the same result.

I have a few idea about what is happening but would like some advice about fixing it since I am no expert in networking.

1. Modem is too hot and stops working.

2.Somebody took my iP adress with my bittorrent client and started ddpsing me for the lolz? (dont even know if that's possible?)

3.My ISP saw that I was using a bittorrent protocol and stopped my connection(first time it would happen)

Any other ideas on that?

Thank you very much!
