Hi Friends,

I am new to this Forum and I love it. I have Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos - S6802. Though the specifications shows 512mb ram, it shows only 397mb in the phone. It lags so much and it has Gingerbread 2.3 OS which is out of date now. I want to root my device so I can have my hands on latest Android OS.

Moreover I want to ask one more thing. By rooting can I increase the speed of my device as I find the mobile is lagging too much. I am not able to use bigger size apps which lags and hangs down my phone for few minutes. Hope you all understand why I want to root my phone.

If i can root and get the benefit of using latest android OS as well as some speedy work on my device, pls guide me how to root, where can I find the softwares and which is best to use. I would love to use latest Android Jelly Bean software or i can wait and use Android 4.3 (Jellybean or Vennila, whatever they call it).

I am not addicted to drugs But to GADGETS.

A tutorial on how to root it: http://www.androtweet.com/2013/04/root-and-install-cwm-recovery-for-ace.html

I can't guarantee that rooting your phone and flashing a new ROM will increase performance, but if you're willing to try, it's worth a shot. You can find roms over at the XDA forums.

I would suggest the XDA forums as well, it's how I learned everything about rooting and installing customer OS's
Also keep in mind, with cell phones the saying stands true, you get what you pay for, get a cheap phone and get

cheap performance, get a expensive top of the line S4, expect stellar performance, if you were to install a custom

up to date ROM on that device, there's a good chance it might be quite slow and sluggish as the OS I meant for newer

phones with newer, faster, up to date hardware.
