I decided that I wanted to upgrade my audio setup and came into a little problem in that I don't know anything about audio :P For a headset I've decided on a Sennheiser Game(No, I am not putting a "4" in "game") Zero, but I'm not sure what to look for in speakers. I was thinking the AV 40's, but don't exactly know what else there is out there. I just need something that's under 200$ (Canadian monies), black, and good enough for gaming. Also, do I need a sound card or anything to power it? I guess an amp of some kind to help with footsteps would be good. I'm using my onboard sound right now on my Asus P8P67 Deluxe motherboard.

My current setup is a Corsair HS1 and Logitech X-530.

The AV40s are good, but they might not have the low end for gaming (unless you buy a separate subwoofer later on).

How about this?

Thanks for the link. SBX Pro Studio and CMSS-3D are definitely the best with SBX having more of a natural sound and CMSS-3D being more poppy. Think I'll be picking up the Creative Z for that SBX :)

I've also been looking into speakers more and am trying to choose between the Klipsch Pro Media, Corsair SP2500, M-Audio AV 40, or the Audioengine A2+.

But that Creative Z has the 30 ohm output impedance. At least I think that's the one. If it's not 30 then it's 20.

Thinking of getting the Klipsch's  that Stagea recommended.

Probably not going to get a sound card. They're all around 100 dollars and I heard some reviews say they make headphones sound worse from that output impedance Nanner mentioned. I'm more into RTS than FPS so the positional audio and clarity, while nice, won't make too much of a difference for me. SBX is still a thing I want so maybe if they come out with a newer, better, and cheaper card, I'll pick one up.

Thanks for the help.
