So, I am currently using the Corsair TX650w PSU.  This thing can get pretty loud when playing games and is by far the loudest component in my pc.  Looping benchmarks, the PSU makes more noise than my CPU and GPU combined (both are pretty silent even on load).  I draw about 350w max on my system now, so I'm aiming for at least 650w for a potential additional GTX 970.

TLDR : The PSU fan is too damn loud.  Need something much more silent cos it's too freakin loud.

Any budget, as long as it's quiet, preferably at least 80+ Gold and I kinda like Corsair but any brand goes.  Reliability and noise as top priority.

Wow that PSU has 0 reviews on Amazon wth? Lol.  Is be quiet a reliable PSU brand?  I know they make HSF's but that's about it.  I rarely see them being recommended as well.

they are very good, but they aren't recommended much because of the super high cost. linus used a be quiet psu in one of the build guides (i'm not sure which one)

That price is pretty alright.  I was looking to spend about SGD$250+ ($200USD) or so on a good PSU anyways. I'll look for more reviews, but the Seasonic recommended above seems to be getting rave reviews.

How about an HX750i?

Is that thing silent though?  I use about 300w from the wall and the sound of my current PSU just goes nuts.

This is a qoute from the OC3d review of the 1000 W version.

It's also worth noting that the fan still didn't spin up at all even at 500w load, so if you do have a mid-range system, you could be looking at this PSU being silent all the time, even under load.

Pretty beast.  I'll check that out and compare it with the Seasonic-X series ones.  Thanks everyone :D
