I am think of building a HTPC for when I move into a new room and my actual rig will be elsewhere. I plan on using it for HT but also just web browsing and possibly the steam in home streaming service.

I've got a processor (an old i5 2300 socket 1155), and some ram. I will be using powerline adaptors aswell. Do I really need a graphics card for a build like this or not? It will be on a panasonic 37" 1080p tv.

So all I think that I would need is a case, PSU and motherboard.

Any advice would be most helpful to me as I'm still learning! :)

Thanks.

the iGPU will probably be enough for 1080p streaming.

what's your budget? I don't think you need to spend more than $120 really (plausibly less). you didn't mention a HDD, do you need that as well?

Ah yes sorry no budget, just cheap as possible is preferable. Doesn't have to look pretty, just do the job :). Sorry forgot to mention than I have a HDD to put in it already.

Because that would totally fit his criteria for "just cheap as possible." I think you should read before posting...

Well I think it was pretty clear from the fact that I'm reusing quite alot of old hardware that common sense dictates that I'm not looking to spend alot but if you really need one then £150 it is.
