So, I'm planning on making a few upgrades to my current system now that I have the money.

I just want some general opinions:

Motherboard: MSI 797

CPU: intel core i7 4770k with cooler master hyper 212 EVO

GPU: Gigabyte geforce 970 or a GTX geforce 770

psu: 600W corsair builder series CXM modular

I'd suggest grabbing the 4790K over the 4770K. Just for better overall performance for the same price. I also wouldn't suggest the Hyper-212 when you're dropping that kind of cash. I'd suggest a decent-er air cooler such as those ones by Phanteks, or Noctua. GPU. I'd grab a 970. 770 is older and while you might be able to find it for cheaper. It's not worth it.

You should consider stepping the CPU cooler to this one:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/nzxt-cpu-cooler-havik140

The CPU i picked has better thermals and should overclock better...this motherboard support SLI and overclocking and as all the good gaming oriented features and good audio...You have the video card to go along with it...and this powersupply is vastly superior to the corsair on cost only a slight bit more maybe even the same.

The Havik 140 is an awesome CPU cooler that perform similar to an H80i liquid cooler while being much quieter and lower price...also more reliable.
