Heyo! I am just about to finish my PC, and am looking for a new project for myself. My friend and I were joking about a Chromebook C720 that I have. I was just wondering if it was possible to upgrade the CPU, SSD, RAM, and possibly run Windows 8 (or 7) on it. I just thought it would be something cool to work on (if possible). But I wasn't sure if it was do-able. Is there anything that I can't do? What problems could I run into? Thanks!

Don't trust me with sharp things.

probably not the CPU but you might be able to change the ram unless its soldered in and generally you can swap out the drives easily.. just make sure it stays within  the power capacity of the book

Your chromebook has an M.2 ssd. These can be easily bought and replaced with higher capacity ones.  Here is a step-by-step walkthrough on how to upgrade the SSD on your chromebook - http://www.androidcentral.com/how-upgrade-ssd-your-acer-c720-chromebook

edit - as for the ram, that is soldered on, so you will not be able to replace/upgrade it
