Cloning OS to RAID setup
I have 2. Except how do I clone the os back to the raid setup without installing an os?
see i was right, now this is how you do it
make a bootable usb of ubuntu
set up your raid, and make sure you have copied your original os to something outside of your computer (external hdd)
put bootable usb and external drive with old os on computer before boot
boot into your ubuntu usb drive
start gparted in ubuntu
find your disk and your raid, assuming your raid is a software raid
and then copy each partition from your external device to your raid
if your raid is a hardware raid (means you have a raid card in one of your pci-express lanes) then you will have a very hard time doing what you want and would be better suited to just reinstall for all the trouble this would be.
