I jumped on a second one of these. Having to sell my 780 and spend more money on the 970/980 didn't really appeal to me so SLI it is.

I just want to point out that the 780 turns out to be roughly $294 after the rebate and 5% off code.

Unless you have a 780 already there just is no reason not to get a 980, unless of course you can't find one. But never buy last gen hardware. Makes no sense. You are just cutting the life-span of your System down by YEARS.

it is to be both.

 

air-cooled for the normal builder and can be converted to a water-cooled card.

the fan is needed for the VRM.
