Any 4k becnhmarks floating around for SLI 970's?

I imagine they'll be fine for everything barring Crysis 3.

And maybe the original release of Metro 2033 because that game hates modern technology.

I want to play in ultra definition, and play almost all types of games. I would like to know if these are good parts.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/YHNwD3

A number of issues with the build. There is no motherboard listed. X79 is dated and not optimal for a gaming system of this budget. When using an LGA2011 cpu, a 4x4GB memory kit is better than 2x8GB as it allows for quad channel memory operation (as opposed to dual channel). An ssd would greatly improve general performance - booting, browsing, etc. IPS monitors have better color reproduction and viewing angles. In multi-monitor setups the wider viewing angle can help.

What is all the VGA stuff for?

You might consider the following build. (If the budget permits I would suggest opting for a GTX 980 instead of the GTX 970.)

I have no idea what you're planning to do based on the poorly picked, random assortment of parts, but hey, at least you're not buying a pre-built. For a great experience, this is what I recommend. It's very similar to my build, but you're going to need to spend time on cable management. It has everything for a great experience and nothing you don't.

Based on the reasonable build by brob, I dropped the liquid cooling because you really don't need to overclock the processor. I picked the GTX 970s because they give the greatest bang for the buck I've ever seen. You don't need to spend a billion bucks on a case. I use the same case and, with some serious cable management skills since I accidently bought a non-modular power supply for my mATX build, I've made it livable. With the modular power supply I picked, you can live with it too. Two of the case fans are to replace the case fans that come with the case. The other two are to put on the CPU cooler because it can support a fan on each side of the heatsink. The motherboard is great and supports SLI. I picked 16 GB of Kingston 1866 MHz RAM for those Star Citizen all nighters. The power supply will be sufficient for SLI. The SSD is great because it comes with SSD management software. I'm not going to lie. This is an expensive build, but you can do wonders with it. You can run games maxed out at 4K with some AA and even edit 4K video, not to mention record it with NVidia's improved Shadow Play.

If you want to make it cheaper and kick its power right in the balls, then drop some of the parts. You can drop a GTX 970 entirely and drop the remaining one to a normal, non-overclocked version. You can also drop the i7 4790K to a i5 4690K and the RAM down to 8 GB of 1600 MHz RAM. If you decide to drop a GPU, make sure to use the 650 watt PSU instead of the 750.

Now I didn't include peripherals because I already have enough trouble with that as it is. If anything, I've heard that Kingston's new headphone line is great for the price.

CPU: i7 4790k @ 4.6 GHz Motherboard: MSI SLI Plus Krait Edition RAM: 16 GB (2x8) 1866 MHz Kingston Black Fury Series GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming Case: NZXT S340 (Black) Storage: Intel 730 Series SSD (240 GB), Seagate Barracuda (1 TB) Display: LG 24MP55 Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB for gaming (1st Player Fire Dancing for typing) Mouse: Logitech G502 Sound: Corsair Gaming 2100 Vengence 7.1 Headset Operating System: Windows 10
