Hi there.

I'm running club3d r9 280x in crossfire. So I was wondering of getting this but do you guys think it's worth it?

My cards run about 85C and sometimes on heavy load 88C and that's all on 100%. I though ok the only way of getting rid of this heat is by getting this bracket. Now the thing is I tried undervoling and can go from 1.26V to 1.22V and temps still goes to about 82C and that's still to hot for my taste. Now I have a few concerns.

1. Vram will run a bit hotter so have to get memory heatsinks to fix that.

2. vrm will run very hot

3. I would need a shim.

Now take these 3 into consideration do you think it's still worth getting this bracket. I don't care for noise levels 100% fan speed is still fine for me on my current cards noise wise. It's just the temps. Now this bracket is a bit Expensive here in South Africa. I was thinking maybe I should just let it run 82C - 88C cause if it breaks I can just RMA this card.

This is the main stuff I would need remember delivery fess still to apply so it a bit expensive

this is already expensive and I don't even have the memory heatsinks and the shm included. Is there any other way of getting rid of my temps without spending a fortune? Here is my specs:

r9 280x crossfire

Qnix qx2710 2560x1440 @ 96Hz

16GB Adata 2400mhz ram

i7 4790k with H100i

Corsair air 540.

Corsair ax 850w

Sound blaster z sound card

Those temps arent bad I would just leave them as they are because if you get a kraken and aio your looking at £70~ which is around 1/3 the cost of the card itself and thats just for cooling. You also void your warranty which is nice to have if anything goes wrong.

My Rig : Zotac 780 3GB, i5 4670k, H105, M1211 650W, 8GB 2133mhz vengence pro, Mini R2, 144Hz AOC Gsync Monitor

Accessories : K65, Naos 3200, Superlux 681, Chord CCU1

Also true. I was thinking of getting this but the costs is just to much. here everything will cost me R1800. That's about $180. The card alone cost me about $400 here. Things are expensive here but yeah we learn to deal with it.

Anyway anything I can do to improve temps a bit. I still have a few fans lying around. Maybe I should think about strapping a 120mm fan at the back of the card. So the fan will be blowing from the front of the case but I will position it a few mm from the cards. That might force more air on the cards and maybe that will bring temps down

switching from a DCU2 cooler to krakenG10 & corsair H50 for my 290 dropped my temps by 20-30C. well worth it. I use Tuniq TX4 grease, so that might have helped a bit over stock TIM.

The thing is if I do this I'm doing it so i can overclock a bit further aswell. I tried overclocking a single card but i can't. I even tried higher volts and still crashes. Temps is fine about 65 and lower under load for single card

I was only able to overclock my 290 by about 40mhz with DCU2 cooler. After putting the G10/H50 on, I was able to go another 110Mhz (1150) with voltage increase. There's no way anyone can guarantee you will get a lot more overclocking headroom with water, but there should be some improvement.

So I've ordered this bracket here

http://www.overclock.net/t/1501480/gpu-cool-the-artisan-store-promo-inside

It will fit any AIO cooler. So i have a choice between 2 coolers. The coolermaster 120v and the Corsair hydro H55. They about the cheapest ones with the cooler master being quite a bit cheaper. So which cooler would you suggest me getting? i'm not concerned about fan noise. I tried searching reviews with almost none available.
