Did you try putting it in another pcie slot?

The card Is very long amd if i put it into another PCIe slot it will block off the SATA ports. I could try to Do it and fit at least 1 SATA connector in there but that would obviously Not be a long Term fix

But still. If anyone can say with certainty whether it's a problem with my graphics card or whatever else I'd be happy already :)

agreed, try something more intensive i guess, like for both cpu and gpu, or play something like BF4, w/e you got that can do this

I haven't had any issues with my stability since I turned off that anti-surge bios feature. Kapu I would recommend looking through your bios settings to see if there's something like that in there. Have ran all games without vsync and Firestrike no problems since I disabled it.

I already looked for that and didn't find it anywhere in my bios.

But since my pc doesn't even detect my graphics card that doesn't really matter right now :(

try cleaning out the PCI-E slot, like inside it with a brush or canned air to get any dust out that may be getting in the way of the connection, then try to clean off the contacts on the actual GPU with isopropyl alcohol and see if that works after you let it dry for about 2 minutes

that was my issue with my asus p8z77-ws bored since its made for a server it had that anti surge on by default, so i shut that off and no random power-downs anymore

glad that fixed your issue

And it started happening again..

I am pretty sure its a Problem with the graphics itself (at least for me). I haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet (we don't have isopropyl) though so that's still an option. If it actually is my graphics card do you think I can rma it?

Through some magical wizardry I got my Pc to detect the graphics card again (maybe I was just to stupid to do it right before?). I will see whether it still crashes but at least I can use my pc again without having to use the integrated graphics ^^

If you manage to fix it up, i would be happy to know what you did, i RMA'ed my card, but they didn't find the error. So i don't know if it's some kind of BIOS or NVIDIA driver bug...

We'll see whether it still crashes but all I really did to make my pc detect my card again was plugging it in and out a bunch of times, deinstalling and reinstalling a bunch of drivers over and over and changing some settings in my bios back and forth.

So as you can see that's not really any advanced technical method ^^.

I'm still going to inform you whether the crashes are still occurring though if you want me to.

Also what I'd like to know is what manufacturer you card is from and whether you sent it to them or to the shop you bought it from.

@ind3x

I played Borderlands 2 for several hours yesterday and it didn't crash a single time. Also played cs go, didn't crash either.

As you may have already noticed I'm not a professional computer type of guy and can't really tell what it was I did that solved the problem but I can tell you what I think fixed it. At least it will be worth a try.

I uninstalled all my graphics drivers with display driver uninstaller (The ones from the integrated graphics included). Also I set my the primary graphics setting in the bios to peg (pci-e graphics). My graphics card then popped up as an unknown device in device manager. From there I just had to do a fresh install of the nvidia graphics driver.

Feel free to correct me if I said anything wrong. :)

Hope this helps

Hey there!
I've also been looking around in my bios, and i've recieved my card today from my RMA and they didn't find any faultyness (faults, failures?) in it.

But when i today plugged it back in, installed driver, and ran furmark, it crashed. I sent it to my local shop, and they did use furmark and among other things to test it.

After this crash i went into my bios, and saw that it apparantly ran in x8 mode instead of x16

Is this the problem?

When in doubt: C4

I did it with a fresh install.
I've tested every part of my system but my CPU and MOBO. But they are both brand new, so they shouldn't be the problem...

I also tested an old Geforce 9800 and it worked flawlessly...

What is wierd is that it's only the monitor with my game that dies.

I monitor temps, load etc. on my second screen and even when my primary monitor is blacked out, my secondary screen works fine.

Switching monitors didn't solve the problem either, so they aren't the problem either...

When in doubt: C4
