Ok so i upgraded to the i5 4670k a few months ago and ever since ive had some issues with my computer just having freeze spikes. Like i will be playing a game and sometimes after a while it will freeze for a few second and work for about 10 seconds and do it again. Then when i can get to the desk top with everything closed it keeps doing it. I will go into my task manager and my cpu usage will jump from 1% to 100% everytime it freezes. Its not been overclocked or anything. I cant figure out why its doin it. I have windows 7 64 bit as well.

My specs are

I5 4670k

gigabyte z97 sli mobo

corsair vengenc 1600mhz ram 8gigs

Asus cu2 gtx 660

Corsair cx 500psu

wd 750 blue hdd

Look at task manager and see what process is spiking CPU usage.

check for malware installations, any updating softwares, and anti-virus plug-ins.

task manager can identify the file causing the spike, and you'll have to determine

the origin of that file.

missing files from an install could be HDD issues.
