Can I use the intel extreme tuning utility to overclock my CPU? I used to do it via the bios but now that I RMA'd it im lazy to go back and change all the settings. So right now its at factory defaults.

Through the XTU I can only change the voltage and multiplier but if I recall correctly I needed to change much more in the bios, like the QPI speed or whatever...

You can, but its best to do it through the BIOS.

i use XTU (Intel Extreme Tuning Utility) for dirty testing (15min stress) and once

i find a highline, then take those adjustments and load into UEFI for permanent

use.

then fine tune voltage (lowest for stability) and use the snot out of the system for

real-world usage. if it never falters or BSOD i'm good.

last XTU was a 4560k 1.134/44 multi static 68° final 1.375/48 multi static 81°
