Opinions on this X99 build?

ItxCrow

Hey,

I'm getting a new pc soon. And I already asked before what I should get, and you told me to wait for the Gtx 980's

So, here is the build, I'm probably not going to change anything. But I want to ask you something.

Can I play at a playable framerate ( 60+ ) on high settings in games like Bf4 and games like that?

Is it good for video editing?

Do you like it?

Here is the build :

Yeah, if it's just got gaming and the occasional video editing, just go Z97 and save yourself a lot of money on performance that you don't need.

If this guy is fine spending $5,300 on a computer like this then I'm not sure they care.

3x1080p will be easy on 2 980s. Other than that the only thing I'd say is that that gaming headset is much worse than $300 audio designed headphones and that 1000W is overkill for 2 980s and a 5960x

the 1000w is 11$ more than the 800W power supply, that is why I choose it

Meh, might as well pick it up then. Gives you the option to pick up a third 980 in the future if you want it

I'm not sure if you're trolling... unless you're targeting 4k sli 980s will absolutely annihilate any game no problem. However, with the current pricing, the 980 is not a good choice. Either get 3 gtx 970s (still significantly cheaper) or an amd R9 295x2. Or make the sensible choice and be content with 2 970s ^^.

Get rid of that 5960x, it's pointless for gaming (actually doesn't perform as well as some lower end chips) and even for video editing you're perfectly fine with a 5820k (overclocked). In fact you would be better off going for a 4790k and z97.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

If you read his post you'd see the surround 1080p monitors which is 75% of the resolution of 4k so it's a reasonable question

It's still a full 25% off, not a small deal. And, sli 980s will obliterate that.
