I've been hearing stories well actually it's more of a myth that dual channel memory configurations are better than single channel memory and quad channel memory configs would be superior to all channels.

Someone from MSI and a youtube user Gamers Nexus have argued in normal situations that ram channels don't matter except if you do video rendering and professional work, the same goes with graphics cards.

Youtube video of gamer nexus review on single channel vs dual channel

Linus could you perhaps do an episode about this, if you already have could you limk me to it.

People tend to buy dual channel or quad channel, is there a reason or a benefit than this or its just a marketing hype.

Quad channel and dual channel is superior to single channel, but it literally makes no difference in any real life usage, unless you're a professional that uses tons of memory bandwidth. The only reason I'd ever do it is because with one stick of RAM, it looks lonely and bad :P But yeah. You don't need it.

My build: tis be ordered

For gaming: Single channel dual channel and quad channel have differed about 0.5% at the very most and that's within margin of error. Conclusion: For gaming it does not really matter.

For editing/rendering: Quad channel > Dual Channel > Single channel. Quad channel has more memory bandwidth available than the other 2 which is what rendering/editing loves to have as much as possible of. Therefore content creators have stupid amounts of RAM and also why you do not get quad channel on Z97 (That's more of a gaming platform as it also does not have any more than 4 core CPU's). X99 has the 6/8-core CPU's and quad channel support making it the "Creationists platform"

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861
