So a month ago I built a new rig.

Now, I went in expecting this card to absolutely dominate 1920x1080 gaming at 60 fps.

  • On max with high-res texture mods, Fallout New Vegas is normally around 60 fps, but I get constant drops as low as 40 fps. It stutters, pretty much. Same with Skyrim, where I also have high res textures installed.
  • Metro 2033, I get a constant 30-40 fps normally, only 60 fps in quiet rooms and corridors with nothing much going on.
  • Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, I get between 45 and 55 fps just driving around.
  • 3DMark I get a 9,400 score on Fire Strike (not extreme). I have no way to tell if this is normal.

Now keep in mind these games are maxed to the fullest, but I still feel like I should be able to max games at 60 fps on this thing, especially since I read that this card is even good for multiple monitors. What could be the issue? If this is normal, what kind of settings should I be turning down first? I hear anti-aliasing is very intensive, what do others set it to?

Weirdly, I get a solid 60 fps in Crisis 2, even in full on gun fights with grenades and dozens of enemies all shooting at once. At absolute worst, it drops to 55 fps. That's with everything on ultra, and high-res textures.
