Would it be worth it too get two 840's (non pros) and put them in raid 0 or just leave them separate?

I do realise you lose redundancy though..

thanks

I don't think you can tell the difference in RAID 0 and seperate drives. Yes, ofc RAID will be faster, but unless you're running something that needs fast storage, I don't think you can tell the difference. Especially if you're gaming. I would get 1 larger drive or 2 drives and run a hackintosh on the second drive ;)

RAID 0 with two SSDs is basically useless.  Just get the next highest capacity for the increased longevity, since TLC is not very durable to begin with.

I had wanted to do a raid 0 with ssd's. but then I looked on the web and found out all this stuff about enabling trim. and how this is a thing you should do if you want to run ssd's in raid 0.

The main reason Id want to have raid 0 with ssd's would be to increase storage capacity and not having to use any hhd's.  risky as that may be..

It just got really confusing when I found that people were using hacked mother board bios's to enable trim.  I think there may be a simple utility like ssd tweaker that can enable trim but, I'd need to ask some folks who are more tech oriented than myself about it before knowing whats all going on there.

The only reason really to have raid 0 SSDs is for benchmarking or saving huge uncompressed HD video files.. just buy a bigger SSD, Leave them seperate or just get one big one, If you leave them seperate you can have one for your OS and programs and another for your games and other regularly used stuff, what i would do though is get a larger one, run all your programs off it and your games, and get a hard drive for mass storage.
