4690k Overclocking

Go to solution Solved by LemonSpice,

yes

okay thats going to be hard because most fans are tht size already so i would reccomend that you save your money use the stock cooler for now or the coolermaster and save your money for an aio liquid

So i plan on overclocking an i5 4690k, on an msi z97m gaming board. i was planing to get the hyper 212 but it doesnt fit the corsair air 240, so i am left with its slim brother the geminII. I want to get at least a 4.0 Gz OC to make me happy, i was wondering if this budget cooler would be able to handle that. If it cant handle that can you guys recommend any other cooler with a top fan slim design (keeping it on the budget side of things) ? I also like alot the be quiet! shadow top fan model, but it isnt on amazon anywhere.

Thanks

Have you taken a look at watercooling? the h100i should fit in it just fine and is a fantastic AIO water cooler, though it costs about $100..

i would love, LOVE an aio cooler, but the problem is the price, i saw the CM seidon that costs 40$, but i dont really know what im getting for 40$ worth of water cooling

Edit: how about the h55?, its at 50$ so i kinda cheap.

for 50$and above you get into the high quality stuff so i would recommend saving some money but here is a good option for 7 dollars extra and it is low profile http://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhl9i

will that perform like a CM GenmiII m4?? it looks really, really small. I could get the CM and slap a noctua fan in there, even i think it would look cool from outside with an LED fan.

Ye it would and it would cost more to slap on the noctua than buy the cooler but yes the cooler master you said is a good cooler also the noctua comes with noctua fans
