Looking for a mechanical keyboard

Hi,

Im new to the forum although i have been following the wan show for some time now. Im from spain and my english is not perfect so ill try to write as best as i can.

Im looking for a keyboard for gaming and some typing(university) but I cant decide which one to buy so i would like for someone to recommend me some. I want the keyboard to have key light( best blue or white ), i would like it to have a palm rest and mx red ( i guess its the best option in my case ). My budget is around 100-130 dollars or 110 euros( not sure how much the keyboard will cost here in spain or if it will be available).

Thanks a lot!

I would say Corsair k70. Comes with MX red, blue light as well, wristrest, on your budget.

Corsair keyboards are lovely and can personally vouch for them.

Red's will be best for gaming, I found browns lovely to type with though so my advice will be do some reading on the different switches and weigh up the pros and cons for each. Just don't go red for the sake of red, especially when it's an expensive keyboard. Spend an hour knowing what you're buying.

After you've found the keytype, then go for things like backlight and brand. Just make sure that whatever you buy has a good warranty and great customer service. Backlights are notorious for breaking in under a year.

In terms of brands, I'd stay away from gaming orientated ones. Razer supposedly make good ones (never tried one myself) but what I read about their customer service and build quality I'd stay away from them. Corsair and Logitech make nice ones. As its for university, Ducky make lovely ones to type on although can be a pain to find and maybe a bit more than your budget.

New razer boards with green and orange switches are an excellent choice. Contrary to common belief, Razer support has been helpful for me and they keep their drivers very up to date.

Unfortunately, Razer doesn't have an option for a palm rest or mx red switches, but their product quality is outstanding.

If you are looking for a Mx Red with a white/blue backlight (I'm looking too) you basically have 2 choices.

An expensive ducky.

Or the Corsair RGB which isn't even out yet, and its also expensive.

You pay a premium for these types of varients as far as I can tell.

An option may be the new Cmstorm Rapid-I with MX red and white backlight.

It's available in the USA, but not here in the UK, not sure about spain
